How to use 3G usb dongle on our cloud dvr

2. Function introduction:

This manual introduces you how to use 3G usb dongle on our cloud DVR.

3. Notice:

Our dvr supports basic 3G module function. As there are many different series of 3G modules in different markets, some series with different drivers, may not match our software and firmware. But we are always developing, adding more and more 3G into our compatible lists.

If user wants to connect his dvr through 3G function for remote view, you need to use 3G SIM card which support direct-connection. Such kind of SIM card or service is offered specifically by network service provider. They are plug and play products. Please contact ur local network provider for details.

Network speed depends on 3G network environment and 3G module performances

Our 3G dvr is built to in such a way that once 3G function starts, dvr will use 3G network by default, (Eseenet and DDNS will switch to 3G mode automatically) and configure itself.

4. Please take note of the following before connecting your 3G modem

1). Confirm SIM card is 3G card and that its compatible with 3G modems.

2). Insert SIM card into 3G modem, then insert 3G modem into dvr USB port while dvr if off. Turn on power; enter main menu---setting---network setting. Check 3G connection statuses, if it shows USB 3G modem Not Found, then check if it is properly connected. You can take it out, then insert again.

4). If it continues saying USB modem not found, then this 3G modem is not compatible with our cloud dvr.

5). If your dvr recognizes the modem, then proceed to the next phase which is enabling and setting.

5. Setup of 3G modem.

1). Please follow the on screen instruction on the pictures below.

1). Enter main menu---setting---network setting---3G setting

2). Correct setting is in this order: dial-number/APN/PIN/username/password

3).Dial-number/APN is required, while PIN/username/password should be left blank.

4). PIN numbers are encrypted with SIM card. Please remove before using this card, then input 4 digits password provided by your network provider.

The above settings may not be peculiar with your local 3G network provider, Please enquire from them for clarification.

5). Above settings done and saved, then reboot dvr, 3G function will activate, it takes around 20 seconds to 1 minute. When it shows connected in 3G status, 3G is on.

6).Next time, dvr will detect 3G modem easily and activate automatically.
